How to Use ritual salt bath blends to deepen your releasing practices
With the Super Full Moon in Aquarius looming on 2 August, I have noticed a peak in interest in releasing practices as the two commonly go hand in hand. But what exactly is a releasing practice and why is it important?
A releasing practice is a technique or ritual that helps individuals let go of negative emotions, limiting beliefs, past traumas, or anything that no longer serves their highest good. Releasing practices are essential for emotional and spiritual well-being, as they create space for healing, personal growth, and positive transformation. Releasing is an empowering process that allows us to cultivate emotional freedom, resilience, and a greater sense of peace and fulfilment in our lives by generating the energetic and physical framework to allow for change, growth and transformation with more ease.
There are various types of releasing practices, and they can be adapted to suit individual preferences and needs including meditation, forgiveness, breathwork, visualisation and journaling - tough my personal favourite tool for releasing is via maintaining a regular ritual salt bath practice.
Using Ritual Bath Salts can be a wonderful way to enhance your releasing practices, as it combines the power of intention, water, salts and aromatherapy as well as the practices noted above. Water is a symbol for purification and is a physically cleansing agent, bath salts are known for their many benefits including their detoxifying effects and aromatherapy can be used to support any intention. When these 4 elements are combined in a ritual bath, the benefits magnify as practice becomes more deeply nurturing, loving and connecting in a way to is supportive of maintaining overall well-being - physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
This is why a ritual salt bath is a particularly potent addition to any releasing practice. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to use ritual bath salts to support your releasing practice:
1. Choose the Right Bath Salt Blend: Select a bath salt blend or create one that supports your releasing intentions. Look for salts with essential oils or herbs that encourage letting go, grounding, releasing and clearing energy, and renewal.
2. Set Your Intentions: Before starting your bath, set clear intentions for what you want to release. Reflect on any negative emotions, habits, or attachments that you want to let go of.
3. Prepare Your Space: Create a calming and peaceful atmosphere in your bathroom. Use candles, crystals, or any other elements that help you feel supported in your releasing process. Engage in this process mindfully holding your intention in mind.
4. Draw the Bath: Fill your bathtub with warm water and add the ritual bath salts to the water. As you do this, continue to hold your intention in mind and you might visualize yourself releasing and letting go of any negative energy or emotions.
5. Enter the Bath Mindfully: Step into the bath with intention and awareness, knowing that you are immersing yourself in a space of release and purification.
6. Meditate or Reflect on Release: While in the bath, meditate or simply reflect on what you are letting go of. Allow any emotions or thoughts to come to the surface and release them into the water. This is a good time to also focus on forgiveness and you may even feel drawn to engage in a soul-to-soul mediation with someone you feel need to forgive.
7. Practice Breathwork: Use deep breathing techniques to release tension and negative energy from your body and mind. Inhale positive energy and exhale anything that no longer serves you. Don’t be afraid to make any sound your body needs to make or move your body in any way it needs to move during the breathwork process.
8. Visualize Purification: Imagine the water and bath salts absorbing and cleansing any negativity or attachments from your being. See yourself being purified and free from what you have released. Continue this visualisation as you empty the bathtub, imaging all that no longer serves you washing down the drain.
9. Express Gratitude: As you finish your bath, express gratitude for the opportunity to release what no longer serves you. Feel thankful for the space you have created for positive energy and new beginnings.
10. Ground and Recharge: After your bath, take some time to ground yourself. You can do this by spending time in nature, journaling, or meditating. Recharge your energy and welcome the new chapter in your life.
**Important Note:**
As you use ritual bath salts, remember that intention is key. The bath salts themselves are tools to enhance your practices, but the real magic comes from your focused intentions and the energy you put into the process. Trust in the power of your manifestations and releasing, and allow the ritual to be a meaningful and transformative experience for you.
